Our client is on the hunt for an AI expert to develop a proof of concept that accurately identifies events from video imagery across varying weather and lighting conditions.
This work is part of a broader initiative to support scientific monitoring efforts with potential for statewide implementation.
The goal: A reliable, efficient model that can achieve at least 90% accuracy detecting events.
Location: Brisbane based
Contract: 6 months + possible extension
Your Role:
- Build and train a model to detect events
- Deliver a demonstration of performance accuracy to meet project goals
- Recommend suitable model architecture, software, and hardware approaches if applicable
- Provide insight into whether the accuracy targets are realistically achievable within the available infrastructure
Skills and Tools:
- You will need strong hands on experience with video based AI/ML model development
- Background in edge computing or resource constrained environments
- Proficiency with tools like:
- Python
- TensorFlow
- PyTorch
- CNNs / Faster R-CNN
- CVAT
- Deep SORT – object tracking methods
- The intention is for the AI model to be deployed to edge processors e.g. NVIDIA Jetson products.
- Ability to work independently and communicate clearly with technical and non technical stakeholders
- Ability to train and upskill users
- Experience explaining and justifying model and system decisions
Qualifications:
- Relevant tertiary degree or equivalent experience
