I am currently recruiting for a Statutory Body with a large IT presence who are looking for a Senior Desktop Support Specialist
The Role
As a Senior Desktop Support Specialist, you will be the go-to expert for resolving complex technical issues, providing advanced desktop support, and guiding junior team members. You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure all hardware and software systems are running optimally and assist in system upgrades and deployments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide advanced desktop support for Windows, macOS, and other operating systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware and software issues for end-users.
- Support the deployment and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including PCs, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and peripheral devices.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to manage system updates, patches, and software rollouts.
- Assist with network connectivity, VPNs, and remote access support.
- Manage ticket escalations and ensure timely resolution of issues.
- Mentor and support junior support staff, sharing knowledge and best practices.
- Document issues and solutions within the IT ticketing system.
- Proactively identify areas for system improvement and automation.
About you:
- Proven experience in a Senior Desktop Support or equivalent role.
- Strong knowledge of Windows, macOS, and mobile device management.
- Familiarity with networking principles (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Experience in Active Directory, Office 365, and remote desktop tools.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to troubleshooting.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and effectively.
