The Company: We are recruiting for a statutory body with a significant IT presence, seeking a Senior Solutions Architect.
About the Role: This role offers the opportunity to work on critical infrastructure projects, including cloud transformation initiatives, new infrastructure builds, and data migrations. As a Cloud Architect, you will play a key role in designing and implementing cloud solutions that align with the company’s strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in planning and prioritizing complex cloud transformation initiatives.
- Architect and oversee the delivery of technical solutions for cloud environments.
- Produce technical solutions that incrementally migrate to a multi-cloud environment (AWS and Azure).
- Ensure services are designed to meet business needs, service levels, and non-functional requirements.
- Provide hands-on solution prototyping and testing of architecture patterns and design principles.
- Align architectures with relevant strategies and frameworks.
- Build and maintain the cloud architecture landscape, roadmaps, patterns, and application/technology portfolios.
- Support the elaboration of platform designs and component models.
- Ensure delivered solutions meet technical and functional/non-functional requirements.
- Drive deep architectural discussions to ensure successful cloud deployments.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Work within the Cloud Enablement Program, focusing on infrastructure, applications, networking, and data services.
- Collaborate with the Integration Manager to address loose ends and rearchitect solutions as needed.
- Be part of the SME panel for system transitions.
- Champion security and ensure designs are secure by design.
- Engage with various groups, including security, architecture, domain working groups for cloud, and governance groups.
- Support the development of a five-year strategy body of work, with high opportunities for extension.
Requirements – Skills and Qualifications:
- Based in Brisbane or willing to relocate.
- Available to start immediately or within a two-week notice period.
- Citizenship or residency required due to police checks.
- Strong technical proficiency across AWS and Azure environments.
- AWS & Azure certification (preferred).
- Extensive experience in IT implementations, including scalable cloud-based solutions and microservices architectures.
- Experience with containers and serverless architectures.
- Practical experience building solutions within AWS and Azure.
- Experience designing distributed systems and working with event-driven design patterns.
- Strong governance proficiency across AWS and/or Azure environments.
- Practical experience with cloud automation.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence senior executives.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
