About the role
You’ll join a high-performing operations team supporting a large enterprise environment of 1,000+ virtual machines across two sites.
This hands-on role focuses on maintaining and improving core infrastructure across Windows, VMware, and Azure environments. You’ll handle day-to-day operational support, troubleshooting, and system optimisation to ensure performance and reliability.
Key duties:
- Manage and support large on-premises environments (1,000+ VMs)
- Lead VMware upgrades (v7 – v8, v9 planned next year)
- Maintain and troubleshoot Windows Server builds and automation
- Support Azure SaaS workloads and hybrid environments
- Administer Active Directory and respond to P1/P2 incidents
- Work with Nutanix (highly regarded but not essential)
Skills & experience
- Solid background in Wintel / Operational Support roles
- Confidently supporting enterprise-scale infrastructure
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
- Proactive mindset with focus on stability and performance
- Able to hit the ground running and deliver from day one
