The Opportunity
We’re looking for a hands-on Level 2 Engineer who can confidently support both network and system infrastructure across a variety of client environments. This is a broad role, ideal for someone coming from a Service Desk or MSP background, who’s ready to level up and work on more complex issues across both project and BAU workloads.
You’ll be the first point of contact for Level 1 related, supporting internal IT systems as well as client environments. Expect a healthy mix of troubleshooting, change work, and potential to assist on projects — no two days will be the same.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Respond to Level 1 escalations; network, server, and systems-related issues
- Troubleshoot across Windows Server, Linux, Fortinet firewalls, Cisco switching, and endpoint environments
- Assist with the implementation of changes, fixes, and patching
- Identify root causes of recurring incidents and contribute to problem management
- Provide guidance and knowledge-sharing to Level 1 team members
- Manage triage queues, phone-based support, and ad-hoc technical requests
- Escalate incidents or alerts appropriately while resolving what you can independently
- Document known issues and resolutions to grow the team’s knowledge base
What You’ll Need
- 3+ years’ experience in IT support roles with strong ticketing exposure supporting multiple clients.
- Working knowledge of Windows Server environments, network infrastructure, and system administration
- Strong conceptual understanding of networking; Layer 2, routing, switching & firewalls
- Familiarity with Fortinet, Cisco, Meraki, and tools like Putty/SSH
- MSP experience supporting multiple client environments
- A self-starter mindset; willing to tackle everything from small tasks to projects and changes.
Highly Regarded
- Certifications: CCNA, Fortinet NSE, Microsoft Admin
- Hands-on experience with Fortigate, Cisco switching, and Meraki firewalls
- Understanding of VPNs, VLANs, firewall rules, and network troubleshooting
- Exposure to DHCP/DNS configuration and troubleshooting
- Experience contributing to projects (network/system upgrades, migrations, deployments)
