A well‑established, purpose‑driven Not‑for‑Profit organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to take ownership of a complex, multi‑site enterprise network environment supporting a large number of users.
This is a hands‑on senior role with real influence — stabilising and uplifting the current environment, then leading redesign and modernisation initiatives, including cloud migration and network transformation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take end‑to‑end ownership of network infrastructure across multiple sites
  • Stabilise, remediate and document an under‑documented environment
  • Design, implement and maintain secure, scalable network solutions aligned to best practice
  • Manage firewalls, routers, switches, WAN, carrier services and IP networking
  • Maintain and operate BGP and external carrier connectivity
  • Review and improve firewall rules and network security posture
  • Work within governance frameworks including Essential 8, ISO standards and CAB change management
  • Perform firmware upgrades, patching and lifecycle management
  • Proactively monitor the environment using alerts and network monitoring tools
  • Participate in major projects including network redesign and future cloud migration
  • Collaborate with Security, Cloud, Systems, Analysts and Project teams
  • Participate in a rotating on‑call roster for network outages

Required

  • 6+ years’ experience as a Senior Network Administrator / Engineer
  • Enterprise‑scale, multi‑site network environments
  • Strong hands‑on experience with:
    • Aruba / HPE switching & wireless (Aruba Central / ClearPass highly regarded)
    • Sophos firewalls, VPNs (IPSec & SSL) – plus experience planning firewall migrations
    • BGP, MPLS, VLANs, Spanning Tree, Layer 2/3 networking
  • Experience working within ITIL, CAB and structured change frameworks
  • Strong documentation skills — As‑Builds, designs and operational documentation
  • Ability to investigate issues end‑to‑end and take full ownership

  • Can pass Working with Children, Disability & Police checks

Highly regarded

  • Experience with CrowdStrike, Rapid7 or Airlock
  • Exposure to security audits and compliance frameworks
  • Network redesign and modernisation projects
  • Working alongside Cloud Engineers on hybrid/cloud migrations
