Senior Power BI Developer
We are seeking an experienced Senior Power BI Developer to join a large Queensland Government organisation delivering a major data modernisation initiative.
This role will focus on designing and developing high-quality Power BI dashboards and reporting products, while helping the organisation transition toward modern analytics practices using Microsoft Fabric.
Key responsibilities
- Design, build and enhance Power BI dashboards and reports.
- Translate business requirements into practical analytics solutions.
- Develop and optimise SQL queries, data models and reporting layers.
- Facilitate workshops and work closely with technical and business stakeholders.
- Identify and resolve data quality and performance issues.
- Support testing, deployment and transition into business-as-usual operations.
- Contribute to Power BI standards, guidelines and reporting best practices.
About you You will bring:
- Strong commercial experience developing Power BI dashboards and reports.
- Advanced SQL, DAX, Power Query and data modelling capability.
- Experience with dimensional modelling, data warehousing and star schemas.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and requirements-gathering skills.
- An understanding of data quality, governance and reporting performance.
- The ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Kimball modelling and Power BI certifications will be highly regarded.
