About the Role: We are seeking two experienced Senior Systems Engineers to join our team on a short-term contract with a strong potential for extension. This role is 100% work from home, we are looking for Candidates based in South East Queensland since the team are based here. You will be working on high-impact systems that are business-critical and used by our customers. This environment is 100% on-prem.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work on high-impact systems that are business-critical and used by customers.
- Deploy and integrate various open-source tools to deliver comprehensive solutions.
- Implement and optimize hosting solutions, including PowerDNS upgrades (candidates with strong open-source tooling experience will be considered even without PowerDNS experience).
- Contribute to projects such as web mail infrastructure improvements and speed test server deployments.
- Manage and change systems with potential impacts on large user bases (100K-500K users).
- Identify problems, design solutions, implement, operationalize, and support systems end-to-end.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Extensive experience working with customer-critical infrastructure.
- Have extensive and recent experience with on-prem technologies
- Strong background in deploying and integrating open-source solutions.
- Experience with DHCP and Radius.
- Experience with Ansible or Puppet for orchestration and automation.
- Proven ability to build solutions by integrating multiple open-source components.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with Debian and Ubuntu.
- Experience in managing projects within enterprise environments.
- Available to start with a 1-2 week notice period.
- Experience with PowerDNS hosting upgrades (ideal)
